The image above is an example of a black and white aerial
photo. As we learned in the remote sensing section of class, these photos can
capture roughly the same wavelength as the human eye. These maps do a good job
of making the shorelines and roads stick out. Though not as descriptive as an
IR photo, these photos do a good job of giving an aerial view of the paths
people could use for navigation. Unlike IR, the vegetation doesn't stick out as
much, but black and white photos do a lot to show things like roads.
