Scatter plots are a useful tool when interpreting statistical data. Scatter plots represent two variables using cartesian coordinates. There is a dependent variable and an independent variable so we can measure change and compare. The data represented by each variable is then plotted usually resulting in a scattered sequence depending on that particular sets data value. The closer the plots are together the more similar they are. The scatter plot above shows the planetary radii.
